Key Dates & Deadlines
Mark your calendar with these important deadlines for the General Election on November 3, 2026:
September 8: Mail-in ballots available.
September 19: Mailing of mail-in ballots
October 13: Voter registration deadline.
October 24-November 1: In-person early voting period.
October 27: Deadline to apply for mail-in ballots by mail.
November 2 (by 3:00 PM): Deadline to apply for mail-in ballots in person.
November 3: Election Day 2026. Polls open 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Voting Information
New Jersey has a closed primary system, meaning only registered Republicans can vote in the Republican Primary. Unaffiliated voters may declare Republican affiliation at the polls or by selecting a Republican ballot for mail-in voting, but they will be registered as Republicans afterward unless they change back.
Voting Options
1) In-Person Voting on Election Day: Vote at your designated polling place on Tuesday, November 3 from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

2) Early In-Person Voting: Available from October 24 - November 1, at designated locations in Passaic County (locations TBD; check the NJ Division of Elections closer to the date).
3) Vote-by-Mail:
Apply by October 27 (by mail) or November 2 (in person, by 3:00 p.m.).
Return ballots by mail (postmarked by November 3) or to a secure drop box by 8:00 p.m. on November 3, 2026.
