Presentations:
Congratulations to Matthew Brandt for his 15 years of service as a volunteer firefighter at Skyline Lake Fire House.
Ringwood Downtown Update:
Ringwood Downtown has enhanced its social media platform to include the monthly highlighting of local businesses.
Provident Bank sponsored and 100 residents participated in the Ringwood Downtown Yiftee Gift Card program.
$10k was invested in our community via this program.
The Music In The Woods Summer Concert Series has been very well attended, there are two concerts remaining 8/20 (rescheduled to 8/25) and 8/27.
Farmers’ Market will be at the Park and Ride beginning 9/12.
There will be four Farmers’ Markets this Fall.
Ringwood Rocktoberfest is scheduled for 10/3.
Taste of Ringwood Downtown, a fundraiser, is scheduled for 10/24.
State of NJ’s Revolutionary Lives Exhibit- Introduced to Council by Mary Ellen D’Elia
A traveling exhibit in NJ that focuses on Revolutionary War colonial contributors.
Exhibit held from Sept 28th to Oct. 3rd.
OLD BUSINESS:
2026-#06: Salaries and Police Officers, PBA Local 247 Contract
2.753% salary increase with retropay.
PBA will be changing their health insurance plan design to that of a high deductible insurance plan.
2026-#08: Road ordinance placing stop sign at the intersection at Hilltop Road and Buena Vista Drive.
NEW BUSINESS:
Ordinance No. 2026-#09 - Bond ordinance providing for the improvement of the water supply and distribution system.
State mandated improvements per the DEP.
It is anticipated that to facilitate improvements will be borrowed at an interest rate below 3%.
Approx. $3.9 million bond that gives the Borough 40 years to pay back; Borough intends to pay back earlier.
Ordinance No. 2026-#10 - Bond ordinance providing for the improvement of the james drive sewer treatment plant
State mandated improvements per the DEP including a nitrogen removal system.
It is anticipated that to facilitate improvements will be borrowed at an interest rate below 3%.
Approx. $1.4 million bond that gives the Borough 40 years to pay back; Borough intends to pay back earlier.
Ordinance No. 2026-#11- Ordinance increases the annual sewer fee over the cost of five years.
Ordinance No. 2026-#12- Bond ordinance providing for various capital improvements
Capital improvements including paving, stormwater management, replacing two dump trucks, DPW facility upgrades, and the Stonetown turf field project.
Deputy Mayor Kerr voted not to introduce the part of the ordinance addressing the turf field, citing expense.

End of Meeting Comments:
Councilman Kiraly stated, and Deputy Mayor Kerr agreed, that he would like to have a supporting cost and savings analysis provided in September on Ordinance 2026- #13.
We would like to thank Ringwood Downtown for their hard work and for organizing so many community events.
The Council especially looks forward to the continuation of our Summer Concert Series as well as our future Farmers’ Markets this Fall.
On Saturday, August 29th, the Ringwood Holiday Observers will be hosting a Food Truck Festival in the CVS parking lot.
The Ringwood Hunger Walk will also be in attendance, so please bring non-perishables or a donation. Every little bit counts to help support Upper Passaic Counties Families in need.
